my latest bend was an
ibanez guitar pedal, called a thrashmetal overdrive.
My first problem was
wether i kept the original case! apon first opening it didnt seem
to hold much bending potential. But after a bit of fooling around
i finally got some quite nice bend points.
This ruled out keeping
the original case as there was just not enough space to fit everything
in, and when i found combination points using the bends i decided
a patchbay was the only way to go.
The next problem was
finding a case. I ended up using a standard board case from the
local electronics store, but i did buy a few more that were possibilities.
The main problem was getting the jack holes in the right spots,
but with a bit of fooling around and with my new dremel i got it
right first time. :)
Also a problem was holding
the circuit board in place with enough strength that pushing and
pulling the jacks out wouldnt pull the board out of place. I ended
up using 3 plastic board holders from the local electronics store,
screwed into place ( i tried glueing but no joy )
All this in place i
sprayed the box a metallic purple, coated with enamel clear coat
( which still gave me a sticky finish :( never using again ) and
attached the bannana jacks. Had a little problem with the light,
first i couldnt get a 9v red light, so i used a clear one. I also
couldnt get it to light when the distortion was on, so now as soon
as you attach the battery it lights.
Anyway, the bends go
from crazy pitchable farts, strong loud fuzz, nasty crunch, pitchable
feedback, radio hipass and over-over overdrive.
