First post for the new year!

Played a HAZYINSEPTEMBER gig at rics @ the valley mall a few months ago. Made some very mellow ambient tracks for the night. Will record these soon but hoping to get a presonus soundcard first. Not sure if i should go for the Firebox or the inspire.. probably will go the extra and get the firebox.

Moved house too, now im over in the burbs of brisbane. Hopefully more time for music making, less time on psycho flatmates...

Had a great time at ZZZ market day! the doof tent was awesome and saw Speaker Wrath ( who i couldnt find a website for ) who were excellent. As were Monster Zoku Onsomb as always! On that note heading off for a night of hardcore, Dnb, Jungle and general core at the Juballee.. should be good.

Been working on a track or two.. they are getting harder and faster.. lets see what comes out of it.. maybe a double net release of ambient and hard.

Ive got a Visual Land mp3 player waiting in my PO box to pick up! it has a line in so im hoping to record live sets with it. Ill have to check the quality on it first but it will be nice to have mp3 music again rarther than just listening to radio at work and tapes ( eeww! how analog ;) ) in my car

Ive also got a Roland MC-09 arriving soon! i know, i know.. i bought one at the start of the year..

well i had to sell that one to fund my rs7k purchase, and now i realised just how good it would be to get another mc-09 for its live looping abilities. Im hoping to run vocals thru it and also set up a live rebirth setup using a tr505 + MC09 + EF303 ... how awsome is that!!!

COOL.. i found out about these PHP CMS things for websites, i had always hard coded my html stuff for my websites and it was always such a hassle to update here. But i downloaded Phpwebed and installed it, seems to be working great and easy to use. Thanks to the guys on em411.com for putting me onto this!

Hey, so ive been jamming with some friends and been making some cool stuff. Joined a band with Emili and Heidi, which is also going very well and cant wait to get some serious tunage together.

HERE is the cover for the EP if you feel like you want to burn it to a CD. The gig last week was great, really wanting to do some more :)

Also sold all my gear and upgraded to a Yamaha rs7000 which are going very cheap here in oz ( tag price was 4195 AUD$ got it for 995$ AUD, from Allens in Brisbane City if anyone cares ). Its a strange piece of gear but ive just dipped my toes so far, i miss my ES-1 :( tho i sold it to VERY ANGRY MOBSTER so i know its in good hands :)

25/2/2005

Ok, well i threw together a quick EP release for people to download. You can get all 4 tracks on my em411 page HERE , they were recorded as a warmup for my live set. Please feel free to download and enjoy :)

Bought some more gear, whoops :)

Got myself a Korg ES-1 which rocks and a Roland Mc-09 which is an unusual piece of gear.

Sold my S3 to fund all this but im very happy with the ES-1. Not so sure about the Mc-09 but the 303 in it is fun, im thinking about selling it tho and getting a em-1....

Got my first gig coming up too which im very excited about and a little anxious, ill try and record it so i can upload it here ( or put it on cd maybe? ), If your in brisbane its looking to be at 610 in the valley but more info will be available soon.

Finished another circut bend, make sure you check the circut bending area for the goods :)

Wha.. huge problems but all seem solved now.

I had a hard drive crash and lost my web password and login, and my host service wouldnt respond to my emails ( doh! ).

On the bright side i invested in an amazing Korg 05 r/w which is a great sound module which always seems to amaze me with some of the sounds it produces.

I also picked up an Alesis air FX to play with and im now looking for a cheap mixer to run it all through, the Alto ones look like the way to go.

08/10/2004

Ok, everything seems to be running smoothly! I am adding two new sections to the site, ++bend ( for my circuit bend's ) and -guest[book] ( you can guess what this one is for ). Ill get these working as soon as i can.

I also have been getting into hardware! I bought myself a Korg S3 which is excellent. I also got a Shure PG48 mike, Edirol ua20 sound card, thrashmetal distortion pedal and some AKG k55 headphones.

02/10/2004

Finished 3 remix's that ill post on here soon, two for the ace GltchBtch and one for the ABC project called Singing Bridges. Ive also decided to give this site its own place on the web, and soon it will be located at www.hazyinseptember.com

There will be a few updates and such very soon but at the moment i have to wait for the DNS to redirect.. etc.

Submitted a track for the Ghosts of the Dial collaboration. My track _+cHikEn[nEckS] is quite strange but crunchy. Please check out Ghost of the Dial for other great experimental artists here

People are liking the new change, i must say im very happy with it too :) . Fixed a problem with the tunes not linking properly.

Today i just noticed that i am the featured artist on the Silencer Records site which is a huge honour! Thanks guys, check the Silencer Record site here

I have been doing some serious work with vocals in my new tracks, they are starting to come together and are quite different again from my usual tracks.

22/05/2004

Changed again! I didn't like the quick fix website i had up here and decided to create a better site along with a few banners for use in the forums.

1/05/2004

Oh wow! ++hAzYiNsEpTeMbEr was chosen as the artist of the month on The Sound of DirT website... lots of nice things were said, see below..

"hAzY iN sEpTemBeR makes heavy use of strange and unusual vocal samples with such tracks as "Hate What You Don't Understand" and "House Experiment." "House Experiment" includes samples taken straight from a gay porno. With strange samples as these, one will automatically remember Richard D. James. Such pounding earthy rhythms like the ones found in "zero zero one zero" are enough to kill any man. Luckily, there are those of us that appreciate visiting death every once in a while."

31/05/2004

Yes, i blew my bandwith and this site went down for the month.

As a result all mp3's have been removed and are now hosted on soundclick.

2 new song was added, a remix of The Sound Of Dirt track 10101101 and [hAtE+wHaT+y0u+DoNt+uNdERsTaNd] .

Check out the tunes page for more info.

(cLub_Ill[ FuZz]) has been doing the rounds at Garageband, some reviews:-

The Good:-

illbient voodoo

Excellent! Brought to mind Autechre, Aphex Twin, Plastikman, Emmanuel Top, as well as a track I have at iuma.com called "America," although I can't take credit for the drum programming on it, just the lyrics. Also kinda illbient, like DJ Spooky only with a steady (relentless) beat underlying it all. Love the inchoate vocal samples/noises.

I can't think of much more to say, since it's such a minimalistic track, but I really liked it.

The Bad:-

Is this even a song?

WHAT?! are you kinding me? -this is not a song; it's bass track and a drum track exposed to a very annoying DJ... GET HIM AWAY FROM THE DECKS! Mood? What mood? If this an atempt to sound like DJ Krush, it dosen't work...

And

No

This song is boring, repetitious, and pure laziness. Add a melody, hook, and maybe 2 more Different riffs to make it even listenable.

Ok, so i thought id better do this funky thing properly and do a serious website. So here it is in all its glory! No more one page ( but pretty ) site.

Im linking all my mp3's up to the tunes page from soundclick as thats still the only place that has cleared my tracks.

I also entered both the SOund oF DiRt artist of the month as well as the Silencer Records artist of the month. Hopefully this site will get featured on one of them :)

12/04/2004

Mp3 page started, single page just because i had no where else to dump them.
